As a Clinical Pharmacist with Corpus Christi Medical Center, you will be part of an organization that is devoted to giving back to the community. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the specific requirements of the department, collaborating with medical providers and other members of the care team. Your role will involve assessing patient conditions, performing procedures, administering medications, and teaching patients and their families about their medical conditions and treatment plans.

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Assess patient environment for any safety risks and/or non-compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Assess patient condition for signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect and report any indications to medical provider(s), nurse leader, and/or appropriate agency.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and document the administration of care in the patient medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient for therapeutic response, notifying provider and intervening as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and strive to anticipate patient needs.
  • Teach patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and possible side effects.
  • Manage a care team, providing oversight and delegation to members as appropriate.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pharmacist license.
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's Degree.
