The Clinical Pharmacist position at Novant Health involves a schedule of 7 on and 7 off, from Sunday to Saturday, 7 am to 5:30 pm. The Pharmacy Vision is to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, ensuring that each Pharmacy employee understands their contribution to the health system's commitment to patients and families. The role includes responsibilities for both adult and pediatric pharmacy functions, facilitating pharmaceutical care services, and ensuring drug utilization activities align with patient care needs and regulatory standards. The pharmacist will also participate in critical patient monitoring, collaborate with healthcare providers, and manage medical emergencies, among other duties.

  • Facilitates pharmaceutical care services and medication utilization systems within assigned services.
  • Completes critical patient monitoring and reviews patient profiles to identify, prevent, or mitigate drug-related problems.
  • Partners as an active member of a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care.
  • Makes evidence-based, patient-centered medication recommendations.
  • Participates in the management of medical emergencies.
  • Provides discharge medication review, reconciliation, and counseling as appropriate.
  • Maintains proficiency in central dispensing functions and operational programs.
  • Oversees pharmacy operations and technician practice/activities.
  • Maintains proficiency in preceptor roles and actively engages in education/mentorship.
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required.
  • Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification required.
  • Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy.
  • Oncology experience preferred for oncology roles.
  • For Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship roles: ASHP-accredited PGY2 Infectious Disease residency OR minimum of 2 years of equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship.
  • Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date.
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other approved certification must be obtained and maintained within 2 years of start date.
  • PhD preferred.
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred.
