About The Position

Expected pay for this position is $59.90 - $70.47/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position. Variable Shifts (Mostly days with some evenings (1:30-10:00pm), Every 3rd weekend. One major and one minor holiday. The Clinical Pharmacist reviews prescriptions, obtains clarifications, analyzes drug therapy and regularly consults with medical staff, nursing personnel and others in order to coordinate delivery of high quality pharmaceutical services to OSF HealthCare patients. In addition, the clinical staff pharmacist is responsible for compounding and dispensing medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established procedures and professional pharmacy practice. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

Requirements

  • Licenses/Certifications: PHRM-Pharmacist
  • Education: Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD.) Pharmacy Practice PGY1
  • Experience: 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience serving a variety of patient types
  • Licensure/Certifications: Board Certification through Board of Pharmacy Specialties

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and various other OSF HealthCare personnel.
  • Analytical skills to determine drug appropriateness and evaluate drug interactions.
  • Demonstrated skills in independent problem solving, decision-making abilities, and prioritization/delegation.
  • Knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information accurately.
  • Competency in the use of an electronic medical record system.
