About The Position

The position involves ensuring the safe, appropriate, and economical use of drugs in pediatric patient care at Children's Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs. The role requires specialized skills and knowledge in pharmacy, focusing on providing pharmaceutical care for pediatric patients across various age groups. The pharmacist will be part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to quality and safety initiatives while responding to medication-related inquiries and managing drug information services.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
• Completion of one year pharmacy residency or one year of pharmacy work experience accepted in lieu of residency
• BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute accepted)
• State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Pharmacist license

Responsibilities

• Provides drug information services by responding to questions regarding medication compatibilities, adverse drug events, regimens, dosing, interactions, storage and disposal, compounding, therapeutic uses of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Sustains and implements quality and safety initiatives and practices in the department and throughout the hospital.
• Sustains clinical pharmacy services throughout the organization by providing pharmaceutical care for pediatric patients of all age ranges through participation in multi-disciplinary team rounds and/or care, emergency response, education, guidance, interpretation and analysis of medication related therapeutic issues.
