About The Position

Our PBM goal is to help clients better manage pharmacy spend to make drugs more affordable for their employees and dependents. Rightway is responsible for designing, building, and operating a new-to-the-world PBM model based on our core tenets: fairness & transparency, unlocking the supply chain, supporting the physician-patient relationship, and utilizing navigation to empower consumers. The Clinical Pharmacist, Specialty is a member of the Rightway PBM Clinical Operations team. This role will be key in delivering on the “pharmacist in the family” approach to engaging our members on specialty medications. We are looking for an experienced clinical pharmacist with specialty drug experience to engage with our specialty members in a caring and empathetic manner. Written and verbal communication skills will be critical when interacting with members on the phone, via email, and via the chat function on the Rightway app. A willingness to go the extra mile to provide outstanding customer service is an essential requirement of this role.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy degree required, PharmD preferred. Managed Care or specialty pharmacy residency preferred
  • 3 years in direct patient care such as PBM clinical operations, Health Plan Pharmacy Department, or Specialty pharmacy
  • May require occasional travel.
  • Required: State of residence. Preferred: Multi-state licenses and/or be willing to attain licensure in additional states.
  • Core operating hours are weekdays within 8 am Eastern Time and 8 pm Pacific Time, but may be required to work an evening or weekend shift in the future as Rightway grows. On call approximately once every two months.

Responsibilities

  • Guide specialty members as if you are the “Pharmacist in the Family” to help specialty members manage their medications and disease states.
  • Engage with specialty members via phone, chat, and email to provide a white glove/concierge experience for members.
  • Support and assist specialty members in enrolling in copay/patient assistance programs.
  • Onboard new specialty members: assist in drug selection (as needed), specialty clinical assessment, selection of a specialty dispensing pharmacy, clinically support member throughout the continuum of care.
  • Go above and beyond to answer member questions about all things pharmacy related.
  • Perform core Pharmacist duties including prospective/retrospective drug utilization reviews, comprehensive medication reviews, and recommending changes to patient's drug regimens.
  • Partners with Rightway’s Navigation team where needed to provide holistic support to members.
  • Contributes to the Pharmacy & Therapeutics process in the research, preparation and presentation of drug monographs, therapeutic category reviews and clinical policy development.
  • Ensures that these processes meet or exceed regulatory and best practice standards.
  • Supports prior authorization review process as needed regarding specialty drug product selection and formulary compliance to ensure quality of care.
  • Effectively collaborate with third-parties in the administration of Rightway’s clinical pharmacy strategy.
