Position Highlights Be part of our team at Floyd Valley Healthcare in our Family Medicine Clinic and Retail Pharmacy! Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, IA is currently hiring for a full-time (40 hours per week) Clinical and Retail Pharmacist. The qualified individual will be working 20-30 hours per week as a Clinical Pharmacist in our Family Medicine Clinic and 10-20 hours per week as a Retail Pharmacist in our Retail Pharmacy. The individual will work every third weekend in the Retail Pharmacy. Floyd Valley offers a positive culture that supports a healthy work-life balance. Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or BS degree in Pharmacy, residency in primary care clinic is a plus.
  • Pharmacist licensure in the state of Iowa.
  • Mandatory Reporter training certificate a plus; certification is required as an employee.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care: Assess medication needs, monitor patient progress, and provide individualized pharmaceutical care in the primary care clinics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate and optimize medication therapy into overall care plans.
  • Medication Management: Review prescriptions, provide recommendations, adjust therapies, and ensure appropriate dosing and timing.
  • Patient Education: Teach patients and families about their medications, including safe and effective use, side effects, and lifestyle impacts.
  • Clinical Support: Participate in rounds, serve on committees (like Pharmacy & Therapeutics), and contribute to research or protocol development.
  • Operational Support: May involve reviewing orders, preparing medications, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy policies.
  • Provide patient care consistent with applicable regulations and the mission of Floyd Valley Healthcare by monitoring and recommending optimal medication therapy.
  • Process patient medication orders.
  • Provide pharmaceutical information to patients, staff and providers.
  • Provide oversight for technical staff as assigned.
