The clinical pharmacist is responsible for leading efforts in the prevention and reporting of medication errors and adverse drug reactions according to policy and works to continuously improve process and practice in the institution to enhance safety of medication therapy. Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is seeking a Clinical PRN Pharmacist to join our Pediatric Pharmacy team! Position Highlights This Clinical PRN Pharmacist will help to backfill open clinical pharmacy shifts in multiple pediatric clinical areas. As a member of the clinical team, responsibilities include provision of direct care through multidisciplinary interactions, medication reconciliation, optimizing pharmacotherapy, medication prep and delivery, order verification, and code/trauma response. Collaboration and integration with pharmacy, nursing and medical staff, and excellent communication skills are essential. Clinical PRN pharmacists will be cross trained in the inpatient pharmacy operation to allow additional opportunities to pick up shifts. Clinical Day Shift hours are 7:00am - 3:30pm. Clinical Evening Shift hours are 1:00pm - 11:30pm. Completion of ASHP - Accredited PGY1 residency training program or 2 years of relevant hospital experience is preferred.
