The position involves oncology-specific duties, particularly in chemotherapy drug review and preparation. The role requires reviewing chemotherapy treatment protocol selection for appropriateness based on the patient's diagnosis, calculating and verifying chemotherapy dosages, and communicating any inconsistencies with the physician. The individual will also prepare and dispense sterile chemotherapy and IV infusions in accordance with USP 797 guidelines, while maintaining appropriate patient chemotherapy profiles throughout the active therapy cycles.

  • Review chemotherapy treatment protocol selection for appropriateness based on patient's diagnosis.
  • Calculate and verify computer-generated chemotherapy dosages based on patient-specific data.
  • Communicate inconsistencies in dose calculations/computer-generated doses with physician.
  • Accurately prepare and dispense sterile chemotherapy and IV infusions in accordance with USP 797 guidelines.
  • Maintain appropriate patient chemotherapy profiles for the duration of active therapy cycles.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in Chemotherapy Dose Calculations, Chemotherapy Patient Assessment, Adult Neonatal TPN preparations, and Neonatal Dose.
  • Knowledge of the Common Chemotherapy Protocols.
