About The Position

The hospital Pharmacist ensures accurate and timely distribution of medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established procedures and standards, in support of high quality patient care. The Pharmacist interprets, evaluates and verifies medication orders accurately assessing for drug-drug, drug-allergy and drug-disease state interactions. The Pharmacist provides drug information to clinicians and patients. It is the responsibility of the Pharmacist to maintain accurate and complete records on all patient profiles and controlled drug substances as required by law. The Pharmacist properly manages pharmaceutical inventories and maintains emergency drug supplies, automated dispensing machines and general medication security on the nursing units. This position directs and verifies the Pharmacy Technician's work. Pharmacists will be responsible for maintaining competency and participating in various clinical programs such as Anticoagulation Management, Pharmacokinetic Monitoring, Adverse Drug Event Monitoring, patient care rounding, pharmacotherapy optimization and general medication safety. This position supports organizational goals and values by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork, respect and cooperation. The Pharmacist actively pursues opportunities for professional growth and development.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
  • Current New Jersey State license as a Registered Pharmacist.
  • Two years of experience preferred, with two years of hospital experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of work processes.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS certification preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities
