As a Clinical Pharmacist in our Pediatric Infusion Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, accurate, and timely medication therapy for our young patients. In this outpatient infusion setting, you will be responsible for order verification, entering the IV room to confirm compounding processes, and delivering exceptional pharmacy services. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while expanding your expertise in a highly specialized area. You will oversee the selection, dosing, administration, and dispensing of medications, ensuring the highest standards of care for our pediatric population.

Requirements

  • PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
  • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire.
  • For individuals required to administer immunizations, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire are required.
  • For individuals required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events, current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA), or certification obtained within one (1) year of hire, is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certification.
  • Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
  • Verify medication orders and/or dispenses medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
  • Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
  • Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
  • Direct staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers.
  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.
