About The Position

Job Summary: The Clinical Pharmacist- Outpatient (Outpt) supervises clerks, technicians, interns and students to ensure that the needs of neonatal, pediatric and adult patients are met. Acts as a major source of drug information for the patient and other health professionals. If working in the mail order pharmacy, also coordinates mail order activities as required. Demonstrates flexibility and ability to cover multiple pharmacy locations as needed. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Graduated from an accredited school of pharmacy required. No experience required. Minimum one year of community pharmacy experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Able to write legibly; assemble, troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment, and perform technical age-specific patient care activities as required; use computer and software programs necessary to the position. Use computer for essential job duties. Able to communicate effectively, and professionally with others, be assertive and consistent in following policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure, collaborate with others; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing and on the telephone; perform basic math functions essential to the position; think critically; organize and prioritize workload; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure, problem solve; recall information; pay close attention to detail; document legibly. Ability to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, records, and written documents necessary to the position; discern temperature variances through touch.
