A caregiver in this role supports Team 1 within the Oncology/Hematology Specialty Pharmacy, collaborating with pharmacists, nurses, pharmacy technicians, physicians, and payor partners to ensure timely access to specialty oncology medications and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include reviewing oncology medication orders, supporting oral chemotherapy and anticancer workflows, providing patient counseling and education, answering drug information questions, and conducting patient outreach and follow-up. This role offers strong clinical exposure within a specialized oncology-focused team, an emphasis on caregiver development, and the opportunity for remote work following initial onboarding. This is a remote position after initial onboarding. A caregiver in this role will work rotating 8hr shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. No weekends requirements or major holidays. On-call expectations are expected. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services. Verify medication orders and/or dispenses medications accurately according to state and federal regulations. Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives. Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards. Directs staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers. Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.

Requirements

  • PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
  • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
  • For individuals required to administer immunizations, Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certification
  • 1-2 years of oncology pharmacy experience
  • Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred
  • Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area (i.e. Oncology)
