About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacist at AdventHealth plays a crucial role in supporting the hospital's mission by ensuring safe and effective medication use. This position involves preventing, identifying, and resolving medication-related issues to enhance patient safety and satisfaction while optimizing outcomes and minimizing costs. The pharmacist will engage in both centralized and decentralized pharmacy operations, providing patient-centered care and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality medication therapy.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or other advanced pharmacy degree is required.
• Applicable State Pharmacy License is required.
• BLS and ACLS certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or three years of clinical pharmacy experience is preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certifications may be preferred based on facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform all pharmacist functions including accurate and timely dispensing of medications.
• Engage in clinical interactions with patients and healthcare teams to ensure optimal medication use.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring accuracy in their activities.
• Conduct critical medication order scrutiny and patient monitoring to prevent medication-related problems.
• Verify and enter medication orders, communicating proactively with medical staff to resolve issues.
• Participate in direct patient care programs, providing safe and effective medication therapy based on patient needs.
• Support quality improvement initiatives to enhance medication-related processes and patient care programs.
• Mentor new staff and assist in training pharmacy trainees and students.
