About The Position

Join an acute care inpatient pharmacy team supporting ED, ICU, NICU/PICU, oncology, cardiac, and surgical units. This role blends clinical services with central pharmacy operations, requiring strong collaboration, sound judgment, and the ability to practice independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Requirements

• BS Pharmacy or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited program.
• Active Florida Pharmacist license (in good standing).
• Recent acute care hospital experience (within past 12 months): PGY-1 residency or ≥1 year inpatient hospital pharmacist experience.

Nice To Haves

• New grads with strong inpatient rotations/internships who meet recency requirements.
• Prior HCA system experience and demonstrated independent practice in high-acuity settings.

Responsibilities

• Order Verification & Dispensing: Verify, interpret, compound, and dispense medications safely and accurately.
• Therapy Management: Assess dosing appropriateness, allergies, contraindications, and drug–drug/food interactions.
• Clinical Services: Provide pharmacokinetics consults, anticoagulation management, TPN/nutrition support, IV-to-PO conversions, renal/hepatic dose adjustments, and pain stewardship.
• Formulary Stewardship: Support therapeutic interchange, formulary compliance, and evidence-based medication selection.
• Safety & Quality: Document clinical interventions; participate in medication error/ADR reporting, audits, and performance improvement.
• Education & Collaboration: Provide medication information to providers/nurses/patients; support rounds; participate in handoffs and interdisciplinary communication; precept/mentor as needed.
• Operations Leadership: Oversee pharmacy technicians and help maintain efficient, compliant central pharmacy workflows.
