This position will work as part of the Investigational Drug Service (IDS) Pharmacy team. Pharmacist will be responsible for managing oncology and non-oncology studies, and will work one shift per week as part of the Oncology Team. The Clinical Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care to all patients consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the pharmacy department. In providing this care, the pharmacist must review all drug orders and judge the appropriateness of those orders, i.e. appropriate drug, dose, frequency, etc. Drug related problems, such as potential allergic reactions, drug interactions, and other problems, must be identified and resolved. The pharmacist must also oversee the activities of supportive personnel working in the area. Pharmacists are expected to focus the full potential of their knowledge and experience on the assessment and improvement of patient care. They must be cognizant of medication-related, patient safety risks, and resolve or escalate identified problems in a timely manner. Role may allow for remote work based on the needs of the department at the discretion of the manager/supervisor.
