About The Position

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is a premiere clinical and academic health system, providing expert pediatric care for infants, children and teens with some of the most challenging medical problems. Ranked in multiple specialties by U.S. News & World Report, we provide access to innovative treatments and therapies. Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital has 259 beds in our teaching hospital, with more than half devoted to intensive care level services, and we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida's west coast. Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures. Through collaborations, we manage neonatology and other pediatric services at several community hospitals along Florida's west coast. The goal of the Clinical Pharmacist I is to promote the safe and effective use of medications by working collaboratively with prescribers and the multidisciplinary health care team. This position contributes to the goals of the department by providing safe medication therapy to our patients and identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related problems in the pediatric setting. Along with other members of the health care team, this role is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high standards of care provided by JHACH.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a Pharm.D. or BSPharm
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency OR 2 years hospital experience
  • Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Florida required. Must be obtained prior to start date.
  • PALS certification preferred. Must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Demonstrates high level of skills related to teamwork, organization, and prioritization of workflow.
  • Displays customer service and interpersonal communication skills required for effective communication with patients and health care providers.
  • Demonstrates high level of analytical ability in order to research and evaluate drug information, interpret patient specific data, and resolve problems regarding medication use.
  • Requires comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, kinetics, therapeutic drug monitoring and literature retrieval and evaluation as it relates to patient care within the area of specialty practice.
  • Requires working knowledge of pharmacoeconomic principles.
  • Committed to teaching, mentoring, and coaching health care professionals, students, and residents.
