This is a Stanford Health Care job. The Clinical Pharmacist provides a full range of distributive, clinical, consultative, research, investigational, and/or administrative pharmaceutical services. This includes selecting, compounding, manufacturing, purchasing, dispensing, and preserving drugs, medicines, and other therapeutic agents. The incumbent serves as a member and consultant on treatment or diagnostic teams, disseminates drug information to hospital staff and community groups, and may participate in hospital research projects or perform pharmaceutical research. The role involves applying extensive knowledge of drug properties, stability, usages, incompatibilities, and legal responsibilities for prescription interpretation and dispensing. The pharmacist must stay updated on new drug developments and pharmacy practices, maintain records, document patient data, and prepare reports. Additionally, the role supports investigational drug services by assisting in coordination and maintenance of pharmacy services for research, participating in site visits, supporting dispensing practices based on IRB-approved trials, guiding investigational drug service pharmacy technicians, and serving as a liaison between study teams, sponsors, and nursing to coordinate drug therapy. The position also involves participation in audits from regulatory agencies.
