About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacist in Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) at Stanford Health Care is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical services, including clinical, consultative, and administrative functions. This role involves selecting, compounding, dispensing, and preserving medications, as well as serving as a consultant on treatment teams and participating in research projects. The pharmacist will ensure the safe and effective use of medications, maintain patient records, and contribute to educational programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, or one year if completed a PGY1 residency.
  • Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to pharmacy practice.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, and pharmacokinetics.

  • Experience in a clinical pharmacy setting.
  • Familiarity with investigational drug services and clinical trials.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of distributive, clinical, consultative, research, investigational, and administrative pharmaceutical services.
  • Select, compound, manufacture, purchase, dispense, and preserve drugs and therapeutic agents.
  • Serve as a member and consultant on treatment or diagnostic teams.
  • Disseminate drug information to hospital staff and community groups.
  • Participate in hospital research projects or perform pharmaceutical research.
  • Apply knowledge of drug properties and interactions to evaluate dosages and prevent adverse reactions.
  • Maintain records and document patient data, preparing written and oral reports on patient care.
  • Contribute to accredited teaching programs and training courses.
  • Coordinate pharmacy services related to research and clinical trials.
  • Attend meetings to provide pharmacy input on drug protocols.
