About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacist - Generalist at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and dispensing individual drug orders, including unit dose medications and chemotherapeutic agents. This role involves consulting with healthcare professionals on medication therapies, monitoring drug therapies, and counseling patients on the proper use of prescribed drugs. Additionally, the pharmacist oversees pharmacy technician staff in executing technical functions, ensuring safe and effective medication management.

Requirements

• License to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of New York.
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree; or a Master's degree with one year of clinical pharmacy experience; or a Bachelor's degree with three years of clinical pharmacy experience.
• Credentialing as a member of the organization Medical Staff within four months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and dispense individual drug orders including unit dose medications and intravenous preparations.
• Consult with nurses and prescribers on medication and treatment plans.
• Monitor drug therapy and offer cost-effective alternatives as appropriate.
• Counsel patients on the proper use of prescribed drugs.
• Oversee and direct pharmacy technician staff in executing technical functions.
