About The Position
The Clinical Pharmacist will play a crucial role in supporting the creation and maintenance of CVS Caremark's standard formularies, ensuring clinical appropriateness, accuracy, and consistency. This position involves collaborating with clinical workgroups and enterprise formulary initiatives to address organizational and marketplace needs. The Clinical Pharmacist will act as a subject matter expert, facilitating the formulary decision-making process and enhancing the formulary management systems across the enterprise. Additionally, the role includes providing guidance to internal partners to implement downstream formulary activities, such as adjudication, web/portal management, communications, and publications. The Clinical Pharmacist will also coordinate formulary activities to align with organizational goals, client needs, performance standards, and Plan requirements, while ensuring compliance with established policies, best practices, and applicable regulations. This hybrid role requires the candidate to work three days a week from the Buffalo Grove, IL office, with the flexibility to work remotely on the other days. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of Buffalo Grove, IL. The position demands a high level of attention to detail and strict adherence to timelines, as well as the ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems from a practical perspective. The Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for producing results by determining timeframes, deadlines, and successive steps, negotiating or resolving significant or controversial issues, and advising others on work effects or progress. Strong analytical, quantitative, mathematical, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively. A dedication to continuous improvement is also a key characteristic for success in this role.
