As a Clinical Pharmacist in the Emergency Department, you will ensure patients receive their prescriptions accurately, timely and respectfully. You will appropriately select, dose, administer and dispense medications as indicated, helping provide patients with the treatments they need to improve their health and well-being. Requirements

  • PharmD or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days of hire for Individuals administering immunizations
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within one of hire for individuals responding to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events

  • Board Certification
  • Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
  • Post-Graduate Year 2 Residency (PCY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists in a specialized pharmacy practice area

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based pharmacy and medication services.
  • Ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders.
  • Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
  • Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
  • Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
  • Provide cost-effective care.
