About The Position

The Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist at Atlantic Health System will provide essential support to the Medical Intensive Care Unit, delivering patient-centered pharmaceutical care in a critical care environment. This role involves collaboration with healthcare providers, participation in multidisciplinary committees, and serving as an educator and mentor for pharmacy staff and students.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy with a Pharm D degree.
• Current NJ Board of Pharmacy license required.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in a hospital practice setting.
• Completion of a PGY 1 and PGY 2 residency in critical care preferred.
• Board certification in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and/or in critical care (BCCCP) preferred.
• Experience in research activities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, including clinical intervention and medication order clarifications.
• Monitor drug therapy for appropriateness, including dose, regimen, and drug interactions.
• Conduct patient education and counseling on anticoagulants and other medications.
• Facilitate transitions of care from inpatient to outpatient settings.
• Participate in medical emergencies and provide bedside care as needed.
• Serve as a preceptor and mentor for pharmacy residents and students.
• Participate in multidisciplinary committees to support appropriate medication therapy use.
• Conduct medication use evaluations and research projects to optimize medication use.
