About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacist at AdventHealth plays a crucial role in supporting the hospital's mission by ensuring safe and effective medication use. This position involves preventing, identifying, and resolving medication-related issues to enhance patient safety and satisfaction while optimizing outcomes and minimizing costs. The pharmacist will engage in both centralized and decentralized pharmacy operations, providing clinical interactions with patients and supervising pharmacy technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or other advanced pharmacy degree.
• Applicable State Pharmacy License.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and use independent judgment.
• Proficiency in hospital pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.

Nice To Haves

• PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or three years of clinical pharmacy experience.
• Familiarity with hospital computer systems and pharmacy technology.
• Experience in medication therapy management and evidence-based medicine.

Responsibilities

• Perform all pharmacist functions including accurate and timely dispensing of medications.
• Engage in clinical interactions with patients and healthcare teams to resolve medication-related issues.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring accuracy in their activities.
• Conduct critical medication order scrutiny and patient monitoring to prevent medication-related problems.
• Participate in direct patient care programs and collaborate with healthcare providers for patient-centered care.
• Mentor and train new staff and pharmacy trainees, providing evidence-based education.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance within the pharmacy department.
