Job Summary: The Cardiovascular Perfusionist conducts extracorporeal circulation and ensures the safe management of physiologic functions during any medical procedure in which it is necessary to artificially support or temporarily replace a patient's circulatory or respiratory functions, such as in open heart surgery or other heart procedures. The incumbent in this position will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of MWHC Health System and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, associates and the public. Flexible work days and schedule Excellent work-life balance Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Support the Cardiovascular team during medical procedures by Selecting appropriate equipment and techniques to be used during procedures, in consultation with the physician Administering blood products, medications and controlling the temperature of patients during surgery. Monitoring equipment during surgical procedures, making adjustments as needed to ensure proper blood pressure and flow during the surgery Purchasing equipment and supplies as necessary Participating in quality improvement initiatives Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required Graduate of an accredited perfusion program required ABCP Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) required OR ABCP Certification or Board Eligible, required Ability to work effectively in emergency situations and under stress Ability to work cooperatively / collaboratively as part of a team, developing productive working relationships with diverse groups of people As an EOE/AA employer, the organization will not discriminate in its employment practices due to an applicant's race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, and veteran or disability status. ‎ Required Physical Requirements: Constant (67-100% of workday) walking, standing, use of arms and hands; frequent (34-66% of workday) bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting; ability to lift 35 lbs.; ability to push and pull 20 lbs.; auditory and visual skills to include color determination; ability to work in confined spaces; ability to reach above/overhead. Capacity to cope with difficult situations. Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends. Environmental Requirements and Exposure Hazards: Potential risk of exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals. Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens; must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Requirements
