Vitas HealthcareWaterbury, CT

About The Position

WHO WE ARE We are VITAS Healthcare, the nation's leading end-of-life care provider since 1978. Our hospice organization kickstarts careers in caring, promotes from within, and provides a nationally recognized best-in-class employee experience. Supported by industry-leading experts and a growing network of programs in 15 states, VITAS empowers team members to grow toward their goals while transforming patients' lives. Our priority is to care: For our patients, for each other, and for the future. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an inpatient team manager, you will be responsible for supervising, organizing and supporting all patient care services for your interdisciplinary hospice team. You will collaborate with your direct reports—including physicians, nurses, social workers, patient care administrators and chaplains—and coordinate team member schedules to ensure patients receive the quality care they deserve. This role requires leadership skills and clinical expertise. You will use both to guide your team to success and deliver the best possible care to your patients. WHAT YOU'LL WORK Our inpatient team managers work at a single location—a VITAS inpatient unit (IPU)—every day. Our IPUs serve as a safe, comfortable treatment setting for hospice patients whose symptoms may be too severe to be managed at home. In IPUs, we assess and manage acute, complex, or uncontrolled symptoms (such as pain and shortness of breath) to keep patients comfortable. WHAT'S EXPECTED FROM YOU You will draw on your leadership skills and clinical expertise to successfully manage an IPU, ensuring the effectiveness of your team and the well-being of all patients in your care. In addition to a valid RN license, reliable transportation and at least two years of supervisory experience in healthcare, you'll have the traits that make the VITAS Difference: Commitment, Compassion, and a Can-do Attitude. You will keep patient welfare at the center of everything you do, giving your best each day in service of our core commitment: Extending comfort and dignity to all people at the end of their life's journey.
