About The Position

The Clinical Outcomes Associates (COA) role is to conduct telephonic outreach to Cook Childrens Health Plan (CCHP) members for needs assessment, appointment scheduling, and care gap closure. You will act as a trusted advisor and educator on health care related inquires. You will guide our members to a better healthcare experience, working every day to make healthcare easy by the service you provide. This role is responsible for serving as the initial point of contact between CCHP and new members. This role is responsible for serving as the initial point of contact between CCHP and new members. Cook Children's Health Plan provides vital coverage to nearly 120,000 people in low-income families who qualify for government-sponsored programs in our six county service region. Cook Children's Health Plan provides health coverage for CHIP, CHIP Perinatal, STAR (Medicaid) and STAR Kids Members in the Tarrant county service area. Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of one (1) successful year of healthcare customer service experience required, preferably in Managed Care. Converting from temporary employment with Cook Childrens Health Care System may be substituted for experience.
  • Excellent phone communication skills as calling/engaging members is an essential element to this position.
  • Customer service and professionalism are key.
  • A composed individual able to multi-task, navigating multiple computer applications and working efficiently while communicating and serving the member.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility to team mates and members, demonstrated by the minimal standard of being on time and available to meet members needs, to being accountable for commitments made to members or others and ensuring follow-ups are completed.
  • Ability to adapt to changing health care environment; ability to work with all members of the health care team to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Computer and data entry experience required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office products (to include Word, Excel, and Office).
  • Ability to work well without direct supervision, independently and productively.
  • Must be highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Required.
  • Expert proficiency in conversational, reading, writing, and translating medical terms as well as diagnoses.
  • Must pass Spanish test prior to hire.
