The manager will oversee day to day operations of our 30-bed, 15-beds dedicated to cardiovascular patients including open heart surgery & 15-beds mixed acuity with a focus of medical surgical and oncology patients, Cardiac Unit at Bloomington Hospital located Bloomington, IN. This leader will be a part of our rapidly changing and quickly growing Cardiac unit involved in new and innovative procedure and will lead approximately 90 Direct Reports and will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the daily functions and workflow of assigned departmental personnel for the team. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) required.
  • If bachelor degree not in nursing, must have Master of Nursing (MSN).
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license required.
  • Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Specialty certification related to nursing practice or leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day operations of the Cardiac Unit.
  • Lead approximately 90 Direct Reports.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate daily functions and workflow of assigned departmental personnel.
  • Create an environment where the team is empowered to achieve excellence in patient and organizational outcomes.
  • Provide strategic vision and operational planning for the assigned unit.
  • Accountable for quality and safety improvements, care affordability, and great patient experiences.
  • Advocate and embed evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards.
