About The Position

IU Health is deepening its commitment to northeast Indiana through the construction of a new full-service hospital in Fort Wayne. Designed to expand access to high-quality, patient-centered care, the hospital will bring a broad range of services, including emergency, surgical, and specialty care, closer to home for individuals and families in the region. Through trusted partnerships, integrated care, and a growing team of skilled providers, IU Health Fort Wayne will advance our mission of making Indiana a healthier state for all. This new 140 bed hospital will employ 600+ team members and 60 providers delivering exceptional patient care across specialties. In particular, this location will boast three catheterization labs. This will be a fully onsite role Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with availability to round on evenings and weekends once the hospital is fully operational. Ideal candidates will have experience expanding, building, or growing a medical office and must have experience in a cath lab. This role will have the opportunity to influence how cath labs are run at our Fort Wayne location. The selected candidate will have a target start date of March 2026.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN).
  • If bachelor degree not in nursing, must have Master of Nursing (MSN).
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Specialty certification related to nursing practice or leadership is preferred.

  • Translate and achieve strategic priorities and outcomes: quality and safety improvements, care affordability, great patient experiences, and great team member experiences.
  • Provide strategic vision and operational planning for assigned unit.
  • Lead an interprofessional team to create an environment where the team is empowered to achieve excellence in patient and organizational outcomes.
  • Advance nursing practice by advocating and consistently embedding evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards.
  • Provide oversight of unit that is operational and staffed 24 x 7, including weekends and holidays.
