About The Position

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring optimal pharmaceutical care for our patients for all age groups receiving hematology and oncology services. Will participate in clinical and economic analysis of pharmaceutical care provided to these patients and make recommendations as warranted. The Clinical Oncology Specialist will be the principle pharmacist involved in directing the pharmacy aspects of hematology and oncology research, including disseminating drug information to the pharmacy staff and others as warranted. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing to patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other customers of the hospital. The Clinical Oncology Specialist develops safeguards against drug misadventures in a treatment area where novel and experimental drug therapies are frequently employed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required
  • WV Board of Pharmacy Licensure is required
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience
  • Working or training in an oncology-based pharmacy practice

Nice To Haves

  • Pharm.D. or Master's degree related to pharmacy is preferred
  • Specialty Residency is preferred
  • Board Certified in Oncology is preferred
  • 2+ Years of Position-Related Experience is preferred
  • Oncology Specialty Residency is preferred
