About The Position

The Clinical Nutrition Specialist conducts assessments on nutritional status and manages the nutritional care process in relation to the clinical presentation and disease state of patients at Tampa General Hospital. The Clinical Nutrition Specialist will document care plans, provide individualized education, and make nutritional recommendations, and referrals where appropriate in support of patient care. The role serves as ‘nutrition resource’ to the medical units, interprofessional team, and ambulatory environments. May serve as special projects analyst, support health promotions, medical resident training, community wellness programs, and local business requests for expert nutrition advice through One TGH. Demonstrates proficiency with nutrition focused physical exams (NFPE). Performs computer-related activities as required and executes job requirements in accordance with the mission, vision, and values established by TGH. Reports to the Director of Clinical Nutrition Services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited program.
  • Current license as a Dietitian by the Florida Department of Professional Regulation.
  • Registration by the American Dietetic Association’s Council for Dietetic Registration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Cbord and/or Computrition, Health Touch, Epic.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Board certification/specialty area in Nutrition support, Bariatrics, burns, diabetes, oncology, transplant, pediatrics/NICU, or Renal.
