About The Position

Join our Nutrition Services team at Corewell Health and make a difference in the lives of our residents and their families by participating in all aspects of patient meal service. This includes bedside customer service, coordinating menu selections, educating patients on less complex diets, and maintaining pertinent patient information in the appropriate software program to ensure their nutritional needs are met. This role also involves assembling patient trays, cleaning and sanitizing dishes and equipment, delivering and picking up meal trays, and managing stock. Effective communication and collaboration with other team members are essential to ensure continuity of service and foster a positive work environment.

Requirements

• 1 year of relevant customer service experience on phone or face to face.
• Customer service and/or managed health care experience.
• Basic diet and nutrition knowledge.
• Time management, organizational and risk mitigation skills.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• High volume call center experience.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone and processes diet orders, special diets instructions, transfers, discharges and guest tray information.
• May screen diet order for accuracy.
• Updates and maintains patient data files within appropriate software system/database.
• Assembles appropriate tray tickets/menus, verifies consistency with appropriate software system/database and troubleshoots variances making changes or adjustments as needed.
• May write special diets as needed.
• Provides and posts production tallies for food items to appropriate food service area according to scheduled time.
