About The Position

At Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, the Clinical Nutrition Manager plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the clinical aspects of the nutrition department. This position is responsible for ensuring that all nutrition services meet the highest standards of patient care, safety, and compliance with regulations set forth by the California Board. The Clinical Nutrition Manager oversees the development and maintenance of clinical protocols, collaborative practice agreements, and training programs for both existing and new food therapy management initiatives. This role is essential in coordinating the activities of the nutrition staff to provide safe, effective, and clinically appropriate nutrition therapies to patients. In this leadership position, the Clinical Nutrition Manager will assess daily staff schedules to ensure operational efficiency and that the needs of the department are met. This includes managing colleague time away, overtime work, and adherence to policies and procedures. The manager will also support clinical, quality, and financial initiatives by promoting cost-effective and high-quality nutrition services that enhance patient satisfaction. Establishing departmental goals and collaborating with the Executive Director to develop strategies to achieve these goals is a key responsibility. The Clinical Nutrition Manager will lead process improvement initiatives, evaluate operational efficiency, and utilize data to enhance the quality of medical nutrition therapy. This includes providing drug information and education to healthcare providers and patients, conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The manager will also be involved in planning, developing, and evaluating clinical nutrition care, performing audits, and maintaining open communication with culinary teams to ensure patient menus meet regulatory compliance and satisfaction standards.
