About The Position

The Clinical Nutrition Manager oversees clinical nutrition services in a 516-bed acute-care psychiatric hospital, ensuring the provision of quality food service and medical nutrition therapy to clients. This role involves managing the clinical nutrition staff, developing nutrition care policies, and collaborating with various departments to meet the nutritional needs of patients while adhering to state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) certification is required.
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in clinical nutrition management.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various departments.
  • Experience in qualitative research interviewing and care plan development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design of medical diets to meet patient nutritional needs and compliance with regulations.
  • Review and approve diet menus to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Nutrition Services Director on budget parameters and staffing.
  • Evaluate nutritional analysis of menus and snacks for compliance with guidelines.
  • Develop standards of practice and protocols for clinical nutrition activities.
  • Implement cost control procedures for medical nutrition therapy.
  • Maintain effective communication with medical and nursing personnel regarding patient nutrition care.
  • Resolve patient grievances related to medical nutrition therapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary departments to plan diets for clients.
  • Develop and maintain the Diet Manual for clinical and food service personnel.
  • Establish productivity and performance standards for clinical nutrition functions.
  • Serve on committees related to medical nutrition therapy and quality assurance.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and adjust processes for improved patient satisfaction.
