About The Position

The Clinical Nutrition Instructor is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the activities of dietetic interns, specifically in areas such as Medical Nutrition Therapy or Food Services and Management. This role involves assisting in the overall program planning, implementation, and evaluation of the dietetic internship. The instructor collaborates with assigned clinical or management staff to facilitate intern learning and actively promotes the internship program within the hospital and the broader community. It is important to note that this position does not involve direct patient interaction.

Requirements

  • Registered as a Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
  • Maintenance of Registered Dietitian status with the American Dietetic Association
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Registered Dietitian
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in dietetic education
  • Masters Degree in Dietetics or related field from an accredited program

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements and evaluates dietetic interns’ activities related to assigned area (Medical Nutrition Therapy or Food Services and Management)
  • Assists in program planning, implementation and evaluation of the internship
  • Works with assigned clinical or management staff to facilitate intern learning
  • Promotes the internship throughout the hospital and the community
  • Responsible for self monitoring of performance
  • Independently makes decisions specific to the internship
  • Manage own time and daily responsibilities
  • Responsible for the supervision of 12 Dietetic Interns throughout the year
