About The Position

The Clinical Nutrition Educator is responsible for diabetes/nutrition education of inpatients and outpatients, their families and appropriate support systems. The diabetes education is focused on diabetes self-management and related skills. The teaching is individualized for persons of all ages, incorporating their cultural preferences, health beliefs and preferred learning styles, when feasible. Incorporates American Diabetes Association, American Dietetic Association and American Heart Association standards.

Requirements

• Registered dietitian with BA in food and nutrition.
• Minimum of 3 years in health education or health-related experience.
• Two years in leadership, managerial or education capacity preferred.
• Strong background in diabetes education.
• Knowledge of teaching principles.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal reimbursement for outpatient diabetes education.
• Presentation skills.
• Computer skills and application knowledge.

• Insulin Pump Trainer.
