About The Position

This position serves as a system-wide director leading centralization and standardization initiatives across major services utilized throughout the enterprise. This position establishes best-practice and standards of Clinical Nutrition services, ensures the safety, quality, and compliance of Clinical Nutrition services, while utilizing and developing enhanced business and measurement tools and practices of the Clinical Nutrition operations. This position delivers innovative leadership to create an exceptional environment and experience. Builds strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders. The success of this position results in financial cost savings and increased revenue, clinical and consumer benefits and experience, and improved efficiencies across Intermountain Health. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Nutrition Services. Posting Specifics Pay Rate: Based on Experience Shift Details: Full-time (40 hrs/wk). Hybrid/Remote to include onsite on any of Intermountain facilities. Travel is expected. Additional details: Experience with adult and pediatric population. Acute care and ambulatory care experience. Analytics, research, and data analysis experience. Publication experience; demonstrated ability to publish.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Certified Dietitian in the State of Utah.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving operational performance improvement and achieving measurable results.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditations standards, and best practices in clinical nutrition and healthcare quality and patient safety with thorough knowledge of all applicable codes, standards, and regulations such as State, JCAHO, CDR.
  • Analytic ability to understand and define critical issues (Total Cost of Ownership, NPV, ROI)
  • Strong negotiating skills based on a thorough understanding of contract management.
  • Thorough knowledge of all types of clinical nutrition and clinical technology.
  • Proven ability to lead departmental operations and provide sound people leadership and management skills.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and ability to foster and promote the delivery of excellent patient and consumer service with proven ability to work effectively with physicians, administration, clinical staff, external suppliers, and agencies.
  • A demonstrated working understating of all the key functions needed to create and manage a Clinical Nutrition service line.

Nice To Haves

  • Seven years clinical nutrition experience, with progressive increase in responsibility to include experience in leadership roles.
  • Clinical Nutrition experience in acute and ambulatory care settings.
  • Clinical Nutrition experience in infant, pediatric, and adult care settings.
  • Five years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Two years of continuous improvement experience or continuous improvement certification.
  • Three years of experience in a role requiring analytical skills and expertise in data management.
  • Track record of effective leadership across cross-functional care teams and departments and demonstrated ability to recruit, retain and build the performance of clinical nutrition teams.
  • Specialty Certification(s) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Responsibilities

  • This position will supervise a combination of 4 to 8+ Clinical Nutrition directors and managers with oversight of a single system-wide service line.
  • The rollup headcount of any one senior director within the service line will be greater than 300.
  • S/he will be authorized to approve <$100,000 of non-PO invoices and have full budget responsibility/accounting for the Clinical Nutrition service line and departments assigned.
  • This role requires an accomplished leader to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Clinical Nutrition across all Intermountain Health operations.
  • This position effectively uses the Intermountain Operating Model (IOM) to support the implementation and continuous improvement enterprise wide.
  • S/he will develops and implement successful strategies that transform the Clinical Nutrition operations (infant, pediatric, adult, acute, ambulatory, programs, telehealth, medical group, and outreach) and will work collaboratively with Children’s Health, Clinical Excellence, Clinical Shared Services, Clinical Programs, Enterprise, Facility, Market, and Region Leadership, Patient Safety and Compliance, Nursing, and Supply Chain, to drive initiatives relative to Clinical Nutrition.
