About The Position

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor provides leadership and direction, in accordance organizational and departmental standards, procedures and goals; actively participates in the hospital PI processes. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates delivery of nursing care and sets nursing standards for patient care. Assesses professional growth of employees. Identifies needs and develops provisions to meet educational goals, utilizing internal and external educational resources. Maintains responsibility for a minimum of 12 clinical hours, or as needed by departments, per schedule as part of the department’s core staffing plan. This role will serve as a resource to leadership, staff and preceptors across Women and Children units. The Clinical Nursing Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the managers with the following: staffing, scheduling, recruiting, hiring, employee performance and engagement, patient complaints, risk reports, auditing, and other duties as assigned or delegated by the Women and Children Leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Nursing (BSN) is required
  • Two years of clinical experience in respective department is required
  • Virginia Registered Nurse licensure is required
  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved is required. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required within (1) year of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required within (1) year of hire
  • Fetal Monitoring certification is required within (1) year of hire
  • Excellent in communication skills required
  • Attention to detail required
  • Ability to mentor and lead staff required
