Clinical Nursing Informaticist
About The Position
The Clinical Nursing Informaticist (CNI) is accountable and responsible for facilitating delivery of quality patient care through the use of clinical and financial systems. This individual provides consultation and coordination to the educational development of staff members and acts as a role model in clinical practice. The Clinical Nursing Informaticist strives to improve patient outcomes by integrating evidence based practice and standards of excellence into clinical practice. This individual serves as a liaison for clinicians to facilitate a common understanding of information system needs, end user processes, and alignment with the organizational goals.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- Two years of clinical experience.
- Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License.
- Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid. This is a condition of employment.
- Employee must immediately notify his/her manager or the Health System’s Compliance Officer if he/she is threatened with exclusion or becomes excluded from any federally funded program.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related healthcare field.
- Demonstrated experience in evaluating, designing and implementing informatics programs, tools and medical devices that compliment and interface with electronic medical record systems to include PowerChart, FirstNet and Surginet.
- One year experience in informatics training, nursing education, staff or professional development.
- Clinical Specialty Certification in Nursing Informatics.
