The biliary procedural space at Barnes-Jewish Hospital offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to work in a specialized outpatient environment providing advanced care for patients with hepatobiliary and pancreatic conditions. As a nationally recognized tertiary and quaternary referral center, Barnes-Jewish performs a high volume of outpatient biliary procedures, including ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. Nurses work closely with gastroenterology, anesthesia, and procedural teams to deliver efficient, high-quality care for both scheduled and urgent cases. The Clinical Nurses are integral to the patient experience, providing care from pre-procedure preparation through recovery and discharge, including sedation monitoring, procedural support, and patient education. In addition to seeing outpatient patients, nurses are also seeing emergent cases that might come in through the ED and travel cases in the ICU. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge procedures, consistent day-shift scheduling, and a supportive teaching environment that fosters professional growth. It is ideal for RNs seeking to develop advanced procedural skills while maintaining an outpatient-focused work-life balance.
