About The Position

The Nursing Supervisor will supervise on all Med Surg Tele units as assigned. Will be responsible for assisting with the planning and yearly needs assessment for the unit's budget. Under the supervision of the Director, the Supervisor will monitor patient care activities within budget, daily census and staff usage, and use of premium labor. The Nursing Supervisor also identifies cost reduction opportunities on a regular basis and recommends implementation when necessary. The Supervisor will oversee the daily charging process and assures staff education and participation in the appropriate assignment of patient charges, as applicable. In addition, the candidate will give feedback, within the scope of the supervisor position, and makes suggestions to staff in regards to behavior that is detrimental to: achievement of patient care goals and objectives, achievement of unit/department/organizational goals and objectives while keeping the manager informed of issues at all times.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of recent department specific experience required.
  • One (1) year of recent charge nurse, supervisory expertise in Med/Surg/Tele required.
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
  • Registered Nurse with current California RN license.
  • Current BLS & ACLS (AHA) certification.
  • Basic EKG/tele interpretation required.
  • CPI certification within the first 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Bachelors with CA RN license considered.

  • Maintain a positive relationship with the Medical Staff and identify opportunities to improve service relations.
  • Assist Director/Manager with department operational responsibilities including accurate and timely input of employee hours and QA data collection.
