About The Position

Integrate and provide expert and specialty clinical practice, education, clinical leadership, clinical resource and consultative services to patients/families, nurses, and members of the health care team, with commitment to research activities and incorporation of ethical principles in practice. Apply the American Nurses Association Nursing Administration Scope and Standards of Practice, participate in planning activities to promote Magnet standards in the Nursing Services Department and enforce Joint Commission International (JCI) requirements. Support the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and that of the Department.

Requirements

  • Master Degree of Science in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Field of Expertise: Clinical Nursing according to specialty areas
  • Nursing Colloquium
  • Nursing License from the Ministry of Public Health
  • Registered in the Order of Nurses in Lebanon
  • 5 - 7 years as Registered Nurse in direct patient care
  • Arabic and English (EEE>/= 32)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other software as needed for the job

Nice To Haves

  • ANCC or other specialty-related board certification is preferred.
  • French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical resource person to the nursing staff and members of the multidisciplinary team in improving clinical practice, care planning, case conferencing, problem solving, and decision making.
  • Utilize expertise and specialization to provide consultative services to nurses, patients/families, and members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide expert guidance and specialized education to patients/families, nurses, and nursing students.
  • Empower nurses and members of the multidisciplinary team to influence clinical practices and system processes.
  • Co-lead interdisciplinary task teams and facilitate inter-professional collaboration.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and practice in specialty area.
  • Appraise and translate evidence-based research into practice in areas of specialty and evaluate clinical practices, participate, and lead in developing, implementing, and monitoring quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in research activities with members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide direction and support to patient/family and health care providers in addressing ethical and legal concerns.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Nurse Leader for Research, Education, and Innovation.
