Requirements
- Master's Degree-Clinical focus program as a CNS
- 3 years Clinical area of expertise
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
- Post-Master's Degree Certified Nurse Specialist certificate, if MSN was not focused on the application of the CNS role
Responsibilities
- Leads in the conduct and utilization of nursing research, evidence-based practice and process improvement
- Develops, pilots, evaluates, and incorporates innovative models of practice.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary teams to integrate the nursing perspective into a comprehensive plan of care.
- Collaborates with Clinical Educators on content and operational design of orientation, clinical competency, and other clinical education development.
