About The Position
The Clinical Nurse Specialist practices as an expert in the application of the nursing process and theory within a specialty area. The primary responsibility of the Clinical Nurse Specialist is to advance patient care directly in the role of expert clinical practitioner and indirectly in the roles of educator, consultant, researcher, change agent, collaborator, clinical leader, role model, and patient advocate. Utilizes current research/evidence in nursing practice and staff development, and applies relevant findings to educational programs and patient care in conjunction with the unit-based Nursing Professional Development Specialist.
