About The Position

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist
(CNS) for our Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (Peds CVICU) within
Inova's L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital. This role is eligible for relocation
assistance.

At Inova, the Pediatric Cardiac ICU serves the needs of critically ill infants,
children, and adolescents who require specialized heart care. This specialized
unit is staffed by highly skilled nurses and a team of intensivists from
multiple subspecialties, including anesthesiology, pediatric cardiology,
pediatric heart surgery, neonatology (newborn care), cardiac critical care, and
pulmonology (lung care). The unit is expanding to include transplant and device
management.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Advance Clinical Nursing Practice.
• 3 years of clinical practice
• BLS (AHA), and Certified or achieve certification in specialty nursing practice within 12 months.
• Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Identifies evidenced-based practices to incorporate into population standards of practice.
• Assists with the implementation of research findings into clinical practice standards.
• Provides leadership to ensure evidence-based practices are administered to relevant patient populations.
• Serves as clinical consultant and expert resource to nursing team members, leaders, other disciplines for a specified population to ensure optimal patient outcomes, demonstrating a holistic and caring approach to patient care.
• Reviews and develops patient standards of practice and protocols to ensure evidence-based practice guidelines.
• Collaborates with nursing and other disciplines to implement clinical practice standards for the assigned patient population.
