About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) in Behavioral Health is responsible for advancing nursing practice standards through expert clinical practice, education, consultation, and systems leadership. This role involves collaboration with the Clinical Service Leadership Team and focuses on improving patient outcomes and experiences within a Magnet designated facility. The CNS/CNL will mentor nursing staff, engage with patients and families, and lead initiatives that enhance the quality of care provided.

Requirements

• Master's degree in nursing with a clinical focus in the area of specialty.
• Two years of concentrated clinical experience in the area of specialty.
• RN License in the State of Michigan.
• Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• CNS certification in relevant specialties (e.g., Adult Health, Pediatric Nursing, etc.).
• CNL Certification within 6 months if applicable.

Nice To Haves

• PhD or DNP in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Develop criteria for and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice within the spheres of influence: patient, nursing, and organization.
• Interact directly with patients, families, and groups to promote health and improve quality of life.
• Consult and advise nurses and healthcare team members in the care of complex patients and families.
• Support problem-solving processes based on specialized clinical expertise.
• Mentor nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members.
