We are seeking highly skilled and motivated nurses to join our team in providing exceptional patient care. Our colleagues are integral members of the Interventional Radiology team. Nurses work with Interventional Radiologists, Surgeons, Proceduralists, Nurse Practitioners, and Radiology Technologists to provide comprehensive patient care before, during, and after interventional procedures. The ideal candidate will be dedicated, compassionate, and have a strong commitment to patient centered care. Clinical Nurse Scrub II responsibilities include:

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a Critical Care, Radiology, Emergency Department, or Operating Room required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) Degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing patient education including verbal and written instructions regarding planned procedures and post-procedure care.
  • Reviewing pertinent laboratory values, imaging, and other medical records and performing nursing assessment to assist providers in screening of patient pre-procedure and anticipates any special needs for the individual patient with regard to planned procedures.
  • Monitoring patient intra-procedure, post-procedure and post moderate sedation, verifying that patient meets appropriate requirements for discharge or transfer to an inpatient setting in accordance with physician orders.
  • Documenting all pertinent information in the patient’s permanent medical record.
  • Possessing working knowledge of procedures performed, including indications, technical accomplishment, and potential risks/complications.
  • Demonstrating sterile technique, maximum sterile barrier precautions, and all aspects of scrubbing to assist providers with procedures.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding and entry of procedural charges in electronic medical records.
  • Establishing and maintaining ongoing communication with the provider throughout procedures to facilitate patient safety, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Rotating assignments to include roles of scrub, circulator, and monitor for sedation.
  • Assisting provider as scrub/circulator for Interventional Radiology procedures including, but not limited to, arteriograms for cerebral, renal, mesenteric, pelvic and extremity circulation (possible angioplasty/stent placement/thrombolytic therapy/embolization), percutaneous gastrostomy tube procedures, percutaneous nephrostomy and urologic stenting procedures, venous access procedures, venography of the extremities, inferior and superior vena cava (possible angioplasty/stent placement/filter placement/thrombolytic therapy), percutaneous cholangiogram (possible balloon dilation/stent placement/drainage catheter placement/stone extraction), trans jugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt, endovascular repair of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms and is willing to adapt to new technologies and protocols.
  • Actively participates in on-call rotation during nights, weekends, and holidays; responds on-site within 30 minutes when the on-call team is activated.
