About The Position
The Clinical Nurse (RN) position in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at MaineHealth is designed for new graduate nurses and is integral to supporting the mission, vision, and values of Maine Medical Center. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for a comprehensive range of nursing duties, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care. This care delivery process begins with the initial contact with the healthcare system and may extend across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and community care. As part of the role, the Clinical Nurse will engage in continuous learning and professional development, particularly through the Nurse Residency Program, which is automatically available to all new graduate RNs hired into regular status positions. This program is designed to support the transition from nursing school to clinical practice, ensuring that new nurses are well-prepared to provide high-quality care. The Clinical Nurse will work collaboratively with healthcare team members to coordinate patient and family care, ensuring that all actions align with the guidelines and policies of Maine Medical Center and the Maine State Board of Nursing.
