About The Position

The Clinical Nurse (RN) position at Maine Medical Center focuses on providing specialized care for high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients in a dedicated 12-bed unit. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; must enroll in a BSN program within one year of hire and complete it within five years.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine.
  • At least 1 year of prior RN work experience, with a strong preference for perinatal care experience.
  • Basic knowledge of nursing research, theory, practices, principles, and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Analytical ability to identify changes in patients' conditions and initiate appropriate actions.
  • Ability to manage potential crisis situations involving patients and families.
  • Demonstrated caring nursing practice and ability to promote a healing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in relevant specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Deliver and coordinate patient and family care from initial contact through the continuum of care.
  • Collaborate with the Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby teams to ensure comprehensive care for high-risk patients.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development, including obtaining specialty certification within two years of hire.
