In accordance with national standards of nursing practice and within the guidelines and policies and procedures of both Maine Medical Center and the Maine State Board of Nursing, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the effects of nursing care. Care delivery and coordination of patient and family care begins with the initial contact with the health care system and may continue across the continuum. Services may be provided on an inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and/or community basis. Unit Bio: Maine Medical Center's Float Pool offers a unique opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to expand their knowledge base and sharpen their skill set. An RN in this position is given the opportunity to train on an array of Med Surg floors, Telemetry units and high acuity settings within Maine's only Magnet designated hospital and level 1 Trauma Center. The assortment of floors and units an RN could potentially be assigned to may give way to opportunity to practice in highly sought after specialties once trained on multiple units, including pediatrics and Mother/Baby care, that may not otherwise be available at the time of hire. Candidates applying to the Float Pool must possess the ability to think quickly on their feet, remarkable adaptability and critical thinking expertise. Both full and part time opportunities at Maine Medical Center are benefit eligible positions. All new graduate RNs (less than 1 year RN experience) hired into regular status positions are automatically enrolled in our Residency program in conjunction with their unit based employment.
