About The Position

The Clinical Nurse (RN) in the ICU Medicine unit at Stanford Health Care is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients. Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent ICU experience required.
• 2 years of experience in a Medical ICU setting strongly preferred.
• AHA BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• AHA ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in teaching or mentoring other nursing staff.
• Knowledge of Jean Watson's Caring Science theory.
• Familiarity with the Magnet Model and Professional Practice Model (PPM).

Responsibilities

• Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families to provide emotional support and information.
• Obtain and interpret relevant assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans.
• Implement nursing and medical interventions safely and evaluate their effectiveness.

• Monitor and ensure quality healthcare practices and compliance with standards and policies.
• Integrate multiple requests and work expectations by setting priorities and delegating tasks appropriately.
